Meet the team

The people behind BrightTurn.

Amy Jenkins

Co-Founder

30 years in insurance, financial services and technology, most of it as the strategist executives relied on to decide where to invest first. Amy brings that senior-level thinking to independent businesses that could never hire it.

Amy Jenkins has spent 30 years in insurance, financial services and technology. As a Principal Enterprise Architect, she led digital strategy and capability-based planning: working out what an organization needs to be able to do, and which investments get it there first. She aligned an $800 million technology budget to corporate strategy and personally sequenced execution of $215 million of it.

The lesson from all of it is simple: decide what matters most, then do it in the right order. Big organizations pay senior strategists for exactly that, because the wrong order wastes time and money. Independent owners face the same choices with less room for error, and almost none can afford that kind of help.

That’s why Amy founded BrightTurn: to give smaller businesses the strategic thinking she practiced at the highest levels. She leads the company and personally sets each client’s priorities, so your time and money go where they’ll make the biggest difference first.

Andy Jenkins

Co-Founder

Veteran

More than three decades in uniform, from Army armor crewman to Air National Guard Combat Camera videographer and aircraft structures mechanic, with two deployments to Afghanistan. Andy brings a soldier’s follow-through and a photographer’s eye for what makes people stop and look.

Andy Jenkins has spent more than three decades in uniform. He began as an armor crewman in the U.S. Army, then served over 28 years in the Air National Guard. Along the way, he spent more than six years as a Combat Camera videographer documenting military operations, later worked as an Aircraft Structures Mechanic, and deployed twice to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. That career built the discipline and follow-through he brings to every client.

Trained in photography and videography, Andy knows how to find the story in a scene and frame it so people remember it. For small businesses competing for attention, that’s often the difference between being noticed and being scrolled past.

At BrightTurn, he pairs a mechanic’s precision and a soldier’s steadiness with a storyteller’s eye, and he’s committed to seeing the work through so your business can make its next turn.

Niki Harwood

Co-Founder, Operations

More than 20 years close to the customer, from 14 years in customer support at a global technology company to building websites for small businesses and analyzing retail products. Niki leads operations and turns customers’ headaches into clear next steps.

Niki Harwood has spent more than 20 years close to the customer. She began with 14 years at a global technology company, managing many sides of customer support for its printing division, including vendor management and project management. She then spent time as a freelance web designer, helping small businesses get noticed with clear sites and Google Business Profiles. For the last six years, she has been a business analyst for retail products at a consumer technology company.

Every one of those roles put the customer first. Support taught her to find the real problem behind a customer’s question. Managing vendors and projects taught her to keep many moving parts on schedule, and business analysis taught her to turn numbers into decisions. For owners who do it all, that means a partner who listens first, keeps the work organized, and makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.

Her parents ran their own business in retirement, so the owners doing it all are familiar. Helping small businesses thrive is her way of paying it forward. At BrightTurn she keeps customers first, and she’s happiest when a headache turns into a clear next step. She works by a line from Leonard Koren: “Pare down to the essence, but don’t remove the poetry.”

Ben Harwood

Co-Founder, Technology

20 years in technology, from customer support to digital marketing and enterprise architecture. Ben leads the technical side, making sure the systems behind how you’re found work the way they should.

Ben Harwood has spent 20 years in technology, 17 of them at a national distributor. He began in customer support and worked his way up to Principal Solution Architect. In between, he spent six years alongside the marketing team, making changes that kept customers coming back. For the last three years, he has been an Enterprise Architect at a global software company.

Along the way, he found what he loves most: solving problems for customers and helping coworkers solve theirs. He’s at his best under pressure, when he can simplify a tangled problem, find what really matters, and decide what to fix first. For a small business, that means technical problems explained in plain terms, with the most important fixes done first.

At BrightTurn, he leads the technical side, making sure the systems behind how you’re found work the way they should, so you can get back to running your business.
